Bulbul Tarang, 23" Long (Indian Banjo)

Bulbul Tarang, 23" Long (Indian Banjo) Reviews

Other Picture

Bulbul Tarang, 23" Long (Indian Banjo) Feature

  • Beautiful instrument imported from craftspeople around the world!
  • Perfect for aspiring world musicians!
  • Made with authentic materials!
Bulbul Tarang, 23" Long (Indian Banjo) 23" long, with 10 steel strings. This is not a Kentucky banjo. The case is integral to the instrument. Eight main strings are plucked or strummed with picks while depressing keys to change the notes. Instrument has two sympathetic strings. The main strings on a banjo are all tuned to the same note. It can be any note comfortable to the vocals. Then tune the sympathetic strings to a complimentary harmonic. Indian instruments are usually tuned for the vocals or the particular Raga or song being played. They are not limited to one tuning. An important note about Indian Banjo qualityIn general, the quality standards on Indian instruments usually focus on the functionality of the instrument. The esthetic quality is secondary; Indian instruments often sound better than they look. The BulBul Tarang is the most striking example of this phenomenon. Marred finishes, dents, dings, surface imperfections and general blemishes are standard. We do sort through the shipments when they arrive and take the most blemished out of the first quality inventory. However, you should not expect an Indian Banjo to be un-marred. SPECIAL NOTE: No Warranty on Strings: Manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument has completed a long journey before it ever begins the final leg to your home. During this time the elements affect the strings and may shorten their lifespan. It occasionally happens that a string will fail during that final leg of the journey. Therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings soon after it arrives. If you are a student you may want to change your strings every 3-4 months. If you are a rock star you may need to change your strings every week. If you store your instrument, you should consider changing the strings when you pick it up again.

Tribells

Tribells Reviews

Other Picture

LP Tribells began their life when the smallest bell was found in an antique shop. It had such character and brightness and begged for partners to stand beside it. Working with their sound consultants, LP tuned the small bell to blend with the Tapon Bell (the medium size) and then added the Black Beauty Sr. (the large size). LP TriBells are mounted to a sturdy steel bracket with a cushioned mounting system to help eliminate cross-talk between the bells when any one is struck. The entire set mounts with LP's forged eyebolt assembly for a secure grip in any set up. LP Cowbells are handmade in the USA using the same exact specifications developed by LP Founder Martin Cohen 40 years ago. All LP cowbells are crafted from premium quality steel and specially developed tooling with careful attention given to the tolerance levels. A large variety of LP bells offers different pitches and sound characteristics designed to meet all musical needs and fit into any genre. All mounted cowbells feature the famous forged eye-bolt clamp assembly with oversized wing nuts that provide secure placement on 3/8 diameter mounting rods with only finger tightening.

Latin Percussion LPA404M-VEL Aspire Velocity Cowbell With Mt

Latin Percussion LPA404M-VEL Aspire Velocity Cowbell With Mt Reviews

Other Picture

Velocity is the word for this one. After all, this is all about the cha cha cha, the Cuban dance craze—either in folkloric form or as popularized by Santana in the hit “Oye Como Va”. The new LP Aspire Velocity Cowbell and Mount has a singular purpose. The 5¾” Cha Cha Cowbell is pitched to drive dancers to greater velocity! The high-pitched bell is up there above the din, stating the time, urging dancers to the floor. Since the cha cha cha is one of the few Cuban dances that are not in clave, the relentless drive of this appropriately pitched bell is all-important. The new bell mount in the traditional drumset fashion is on the player’s side of the bass drum, right on the hoop. That makes it handy and effective when needed. The reliability of the LP Aspire Velocity Cowbell is enhanced by an included beefed-up bass drum mount consisting of a knurled 6” rod (to grab standard sized bell receivers), which stems from a claw bracket—rubber lined to protect new bass drum hoops from scarring. And that’s it. Complete. You’re good to go. Great tone, appropriate pitch, secure mounting—and we even put “coasters” around your fine lacquered bass drum hoop!

Chao Gong, 13 3/4" (35cm) Beater (WDB25)

Chao Gong, 13 3/4" (35cm) Beater (WDB25) Reviews

Chao Gong, 13 3/4" (35cm) Beater (WDB25) Feature

  • Beautiful instrument imported from craftspeople around the world!
  • Perfect for aspiring world musicians!
  • Made with authentic materials!
The Chao Gong is a very elegant and distinctive gong that produces a full and sustained wash of musical overtones. Its beauty and its traditional appearance make it a centerpiece in any space, indoors or outdoors. This style of gong dates from the Han Dynasty where it was used for spiritual drumming, large meetings, and to announce the procession of important people. In more modern times, the chao gong has found a place in different genres of music, most notably symphony orchestras. The Chao Gong, otherwise known as a tam-tam, is one of the most familiar looking Chinese gongs. The chao gong differs in shape from the wind gong in that it has a rim around the outside edge. It also has a very distinctive "target" appearance. It is made of a bronze alloy which is roughly 80% copper and 20% tin, and the crafting process is a mixture of hand hammering and working the bronze on a lathe while carefully heating and cooling the metal. On the chao gong, the center spot and outside rim retain the black copper oxide that forms when the gong is made. On the rest of the gong this coating is removed and the surface is polished. Chao gongs are available in a range of sizes, with each size having its own distinct full sound. Smaller sizes have a rich but higher sound while the larger sizes are deeper and ring with more power and sustain.
